Drayage & Material Handling
Drayage Doesn't Have to Be a Black Box.
Drayage — the mandatory material handling fee charged by convention venues — is one of the most confusing and overcharged line items in any tradeshow budget. Exhibitors are routinely hit with unexpected overtime charges, misrouted freight, and documentation errors that compound costs before the show even opens.
B&P helps exhibitors understand the charges before they hit, time deliveries to minimize fees, and coordinates directly with the general service contractor (GSC) so nothing gets lost or delayed at the dock. We've worked with the major GSCs at Las Vegas venues and know the documentation requirements, deadlines, and escalation contacts that keep freight moving.

Tradeshow Freight FAQ
Questions Exhibitors Ask About Las Vegas Shows.
Q. What is tradeshow drayage?
Tradeshow drayage is the movement of exhibit freight from the show dock (or advance warehouse) to your booth space, and back out after the show closes. It is billed by the show's general contractor by weight (CWT), and it is where most exhibitors overspend. B&P coordinates your inbound freight, targets, and paperwork so drayage charges stay predictable.
Q. Should I ship to the advance warehouse or direct to show site?
Advance warehouse shipping is safer for most exhibitors: your freight arrives days or weeks early, is confirmed received, and is guaranteed to be at your booth at move-in. Direct-to-show shipping can save on advance warehouse fees but requires hitting a tight marshalling yard window — a missed target date means wait time or forced surcharges. B&P manages either, and can hold freight at our own Las Vegas warehouse until your ideal delivery window.
Q. When should my exhibit freight arrive in Las Vegas before a show?
For large shows like CES, SEMA, or CONEXPO, plan for freight to arrive at the advance warehouse one to two weeks before move-in. Advance warehouses typically open about 30 days before the show and close a few days before move-in. B&P schedules the linehaul backward from your target window and can store your exhibit at our Las Vegas warehouse if it needs to arrive early.
Q. Can B&P store my booth between Las Vegas shows?
Yes. B&P operates its own Las Vegas warehouse and secured yard — not a partner referral. We receive your booth after move-out, inspect and store it, and stage it for the next show's advance warehouse window. For exhibitors doing multiple Las Vegas shows a year, this eliminates round-trip freight costs entirely.
Q. Does B&P work with show general contractors like Freeman and GES?
Yes. We coordinate directly with the show's general contractor — Freeman, GES, Shepard, and others — handling material handling agreements, target dates, marshalling yard check-in, and move-out paperwork (MHA/bill of lading) so your freight is not left to the forced carrier after the show closes.
